Buying, Selling and Consultancy
Hello, I’m Rory Stokes and welcome to my website.
I’m in the business of buying and selling vintage and classic cars, as well as selling them on behalf of clients under a straightforward sale or return arrangement.
But here’s the important bit: I only deal with cars that I like and believe have real merit.
As a result, you can be sure you’re dealing with a true enthusiast who is in the business for the love of cars and the satisfaction of my clients.
I also offer a consultancy service, which can save you a lot of time, hassle and expense. For example, I can source a car for you or advise you on one you may already have in mind.
My experience means I can make informed recommendations based on your requirements, and can expertly sum up a car’s qualities or limitations and point out any idiosyncrasies. Furthermore, I can perform accurate valuations based on current market conditions.
So, if you’re looking for a prestige motorcar, a sound investment, a valuation, a sales agent, or simply some impartial and expert advice, please contact me by phone or email to arrange an informal meeting.
Having been in the fine vintage and classic car business for more than forty years, and wanting a little more time to myself, I recently sold my interest in Beaulieu Garage.
Since then former clients have contacted me wishing to maintain a relationship that goes beyond the normal buyer/seller one you might find elsewhere.
Put simply, I want to continue sharing my knowledge with enthusiasts like me, while also giving them the benefit of the integrity and experience that I would wish to find in a dealer. With this in mind, I find myself back in the business I enjoy so much.
I admire a lot of different vintage cars, including the upmarket British marques of Alvis, Riley, Lagonda and the classic Rolls Royce and Bentley motorcars.
The continental marques such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati have also captured my imagination, and often it’s a car’s coachwork that seduces me as much as its performance.
I also have a passion for more affordable vehicles and believe you can have a huge amount of fun with a relatively inexpensive classic.
People who know me well know that I love MGs, and I always aim to have one or two for sale as well as at least one at home to drive.
My past work
Over the years I’ve handled numerous exciting and important historic cars.
At the beginning I was involved with mostly older Rolls Royce and Bentley vehicles, from the early years up to the mid-sixties.
Later, at Paradise Garage, I worked with a range of classic, sports and racing cars. At Paradise we also became well-known for our extensive stock of Aston Martins.
After that I set up Maritime Garage Ltd in Lymington; however, this project was sidelined when the opportunity arose to acquire Beaulieu Garage alongside Philip Scott. For the next 21 years Philip and I enjoyed building this successful business.
I don’t operate a showroom every day, but do have cars stored in the New Forest area. Importantly, I can make myself available by appointment to either discuss your needs or simply chat about classic cars.
