1954 MG TF 4 cylinder 1250cc. 4 Speed manual
I have sold many T Type MG's over the years and this car stands out as the finest.
History:
This car was imported in 1989 and professionally restored. It was subsequently sold to a new owner who wanted to show the car. As far as I understand it it was not quite up to show standards so it was completely stripped and restored again to the exacting standards required.
In 1991 it entered a number of competitions and had a significant wins including being declared "Best T type in the United Kingdom" at MG World at the NEC.
It was then stripped down again as the owner now had the bit between his teeth and wanted to have the "finest restoration on the world stage"
The chassis was dipped and powder coated and the tub was rebuilt. The work to the engine included- pistons and conrods balanced by Brown & Gammons- crankshaft balanced, new camshaft and carbs rebuilt. The weather gear was made by an ex Rolls Royce trimmer.
Sadly this owners health deteriorated so the car was sold and the new owner finished off all the details and went on to have more success in the concours field.
Since that time the car has been well maintained and well preserved and still is in outstanding condition.
