1957 JAGUAR XK140 MC ROADSTER                                                                                       6 cylinder 3.4 Litre  Manual 4 Speed

History:

The 140 model was similar in appearance to the 120 though the cockpit was slightly bigger whilst the main improvement was the rack and pinion that replaced the old steering box. Visually they are instantly recognisable from the earlier car by their full width and larger bumpers.  They retained the iconic XK twin overhead cam engine though with increased the horsepower.

This late model XK 140 open two seater was delivered new via Jaguar Cars New York. It is the MC version with the C Type head and dual exhausts giving it a quoted 210 bhp over the standard car's 190 bhp. The same version in the UK was known as the SE or special equipment model.

It returned to the UK about three years ago and has been restored from the chassis up. Finished in opalescent light blue with blue/grey leather and chrome wire wheels. Fitted with some subtle upgrades including aluminium radiator, hi-torque starter motor and alloy fuel tank.  This is a fast and elegant touring car of the late fifties as much at home in Monte Carlo or Goodwood.

 Price £100,000
